Scores of people circled a bonfire which was lit in the centre of the Grand Parade on Thursday, February 1, as part of the many candlelit vigils planned around the country this week in solidarity with the plight of the women of Gaza.

Saint Brigid's crosses were laid on the pavement in their hundreds by the gathered crowds, symbolic of the individual female lives lost during the conflict.
