THE 15th protest rally in as many weeks calling for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza took place in Cork City centre this afternoon.

Despite the wind and rain that is battering the city ahead of Storm Isha, the demonstration, organised by Cork Palestine Solidarity Campaign (CPSC), saw hundreds braving the elements to show their support for the people of Gaza and Palestine.

The demonstrators heard speakers criticise the Government for what they call its "inaction" over the war in Gaza.

Cork City Councillor Lorna Bogue said: "History will judge the Irish government harshly for its refusal to take Israel to court for genocide."
