Three charged as gardaí seize slash hooks and machetes in North Cork

Three men are to appear in court on Thursday in relation to a garda operation in which slash hooks and machetes were seized.
Four people in total were arrested as part of an investigation into alleged violent disorder incidents in North Cork.
Gardaí said a search and arrest operation was carried out on Thursday as part of ongoing investigations into violent disorder incidents and related criminal activities in Charleville.
The incidents occurred between December 16 and January 8.
Gardaí in North Cork, with assistance from Cork County Drugs Units, Mallow District Crime Unit, the ASU, Dog Unit, Divisional Search team and Revenue personnel searched seven residential properties in the Charleville area.
During the search, quantities of cannabis were seized and 30 implements were confiscated which included slash hooks, machetes and golf clubs.
Two suspected petrol bombs were also recovered.
Four men, aged between 18 and 40, were arrested by gardaí under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Garda stations in North Cork.
The three men who have been charged are due to appear before Midleton District Court.
