An investigation has been launched into a burglary in Co Clare which left a man injured.

At around 9.45am on Saturday, December 2, two men who were dressed as workers knocked on the door of a home in Emlaugh near Quilty.

The pair then forced their way into the house and searched the property.

The man who lived in the house, who is in his 80s, was assaulted during the robbery.

He received treatment for minor injuries at the scene by emergency services.

The burglars left the scene with a quantity of cash.

Gardaí investigating the incident are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident to get in contact.

Any person or road user who was in the Emlagh, Quilty area between 9.30am and 10.30am, including those who may have dashcam footage, are asked to get in touch with investigating gardaí.
