Gardaí in Cork discover €8,000 of cannabis in biscuit tin

A man has been arrested after gardaí in Cork found what they would describe as a "rather unusual tin of biscuits" that was filled with suspected cannabis. 

Fermoy gardaí were searching a property when they came across a tin of Jacob's USA biscuits sitting on a counter. 

To their surprise when they opened the lid, they discovered that there were no chocolate biscuits. 

Instead, it was filled to the brim with what gardaí estimate as €8,000 worth of suspected cannabis. 

A garda spokesperson said a man has been arrested following the discovery and is due to appear before the courts.
