Storm Ciarán will continue to hit Irish shores on Wednesday afternoon but should not cause as much damage in Cork as has been seen elsewhere.

The eastern side of the island has seen major flooding, with buildings and homes in Newry in Co Down and Carlingford in Co Louth suffering extensive damage.
