More than 110 local roads in Co Cork in need of repair
Padraig Barrett, the Cork County Council’s director of roads and transportation, said they had identified 111 such roads in the region in need of upgrading.
Cork County Council says it needs more than €6m in funding to bring 110 non-public roads in the region up to a reasonable standard — with the majority of these in West Cork.
Many of these roads are in very isolated areas and serve just a handful of houses, while several are cul-de-sacs. Some of these roads badly need urgent repair, councillors were told.
