Man, 70s, dies following Limerick collision

A man in his 70s had died following a collision in Limerick on Wednesday night. 

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of the collision involving a car and a pedestrian on the N69 Glin to Tarbert Road at approximately 10pm.

A man, aged in his 70s, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

His body has been removed to University Hospital Limerick where an autopsy will take place in due course.

No other injuries were reported.

The road is currently closed pending an examination by Forensic Collision Investigators, and local diversions have been put in place.

Investigating gardaí in Newcastlewest have issued an appeal to anyone for witnesses.

Any road users who were travelling on the N69 between Glin and Tarbert between 9pm and 10.15pm on Wednesday, and who may have camera footage, including dash-cam, have been asked to make this available.
