Man hospitalised following assault on Kerry beach

A man was taken to hospital following an assault on a Kerry beach over the weekend. 

The incident happened at around 8.15 pm on Saturday on Ballybunion Beach. 

The man, aged in his 20s, was taken to University Hospital Kerry for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. 

"No arrests have been made," a Garda spokesperson told the Irish Examiner. 

"Enquiries are ongoing," the spokesperson added.
