Man, 19, killed, two others seriously injured in collision in north Kerry

One person has died and two people have been injured a road collision in north Kerry this afternoon.
The single-vehicle incident occurred on the R555 in Duagh, near Listowel, at around 3pm.
The driver of the vehicle, a 19-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
It is understood the car he was driving collided with a tree.
His body has been removed from the scene to University Hospital Kerry where a post-mortem will take place at a later date.
The two passengers of the vehicle were also taken to University Hospital Kerry for treatment of their injuries, which are understood to be serious but non-life threatening.
The road has was closed for a time while garda forensic experts completed their work at the scene. It has since reopened.
The car involved in the collision will also be examined as part of the garda investigation.
A garda spokesman said: “GardaĂ are appealing to any person who may have witnessed this collision to contact them. Any road users who were travelling in the area and who may have camera (including dash cam) footage is asked to make this available to investigating GardaĂ.”Â
