'I did something bad': Cork man accused of assaulting woman declines bail

One of the three charges against the defendant refers to the production of a kitchen knife

A 37-year-old man accused of producing a knife and assaulting a woman causing her harm said in court that he did not want bail, adding: “I did something bad… I want to pay the consequence.” 

Detective Garda Tom Delaney arrested the accused man at 11.30pm on Wednesday, July 1, and charged him shortly before 4am on July 2. Three charges were brought against the accused.
