Cork man who was holding axe denies making death threat to woman

It was alleged that when arrested, the man was holding an axe and that the woman had fresh injuries to her knee.

A 44-year-old man charged with making a death threat against a woman in The Glen in Cork in October 2024 replied after being cautioned, “I did not threaten her”.

Garda Thomas O’Connell arrested Martin Dwyer, of St Vincent’s Hostel, Anglesea Terrace, Cork, and brought him before Cork District Court on charges of assault causing harm to the woman, production of an axe during the alleged incident and threatening to kill her or cause her serious harm.
