Investigating gardaí have now reissued an appeal for witnesses to the incident.

A man in his 30s remains in a critical condition in hospital after he was hit by a vehicle and then attacked by its occupants in Dublin earlier this month.

Gardaí in Ronanstown are investigating the serious assault which happened at around 6.30pm in the Cappaghmore estate in Clondalkin, Dublin 22, on the evening of Friday, December 5.

The victim, aged in his late 30s, was knocked down by a vehicle before a number of men exited the vehicle "and continued to assault him with weapons".

He was subsequently brought to Beaumont Hospital where his current condition is described as "critical". 

Gardaí attached to Lucan and Ronanstown Garda stations, with the assistance of members of the Armed Support unit, conducted a number of searches on Wednesday, seizing weapons and a number of electronic devices.

Investigating gardaí have now reissued an appeal for witnesses to the incident.

Any persons who were in the Cappaghmore Estate/Ninth Lock Road area of Clondalkin between 6pm and 7pm on the evening of Friday, December 5 and who may have video footage has been requested to make this footage available.
