Joshua Allen charged with dangerous driving in Cork

Judge adjourns the case to February 2026 as gardaí prepare a file for the Director of Public Prosecutions

Joshua Allen, the 26-year-old son of celebrity chef Rachel Allen, has been charged with dangerous driving.

Mr Allen, with an address at Ballinamona, Shanagarry, Co Cork, faces a single count of dangerous driving. The alleged offence is contrary to Section 53 of the Road Traffic Act.

Mr Allen is charged with driving in such a manner, considering speed and other factors, as to be a danger to himself and the public.

A certificate of arrest, charge and caution was submitted to Midleton District Court in Co Cork this morning.

The alleged offence occurred in the townland of Monagunna on the R629 in Shanagarry, Co Cork, on October 27.

Court presenter Sgt Majella O’Sullivan applied to adjourn the case until next year to allow time for the investigating garda to prepare a file. The file will be sent to the DPP for instructions.

Defence solicitor Don Ryan said his client consented to the adjournment. Judge Colm Roberts adjourned the case for hearing on February 5, 2026.
