Cork man signed for Garda-controlled delivery of package containing €80,000 worth of cannabis
Court heard herbal cannabis worth an estimated €80,000 was subject of a joint operation by Revenue Customs Service, Garda National Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau and the Cork Divisional Drugs Unit.
A Fedex parcel raised suspicions at a sorting depot in Dublin and it was found to contain 4kg of cannabis with an €80,000 street value, and now the man who signed for the package after a controlled delivery to his home in Cork faces sentencing.
Gardaí seized €80,000 worth of cannabis at the Mardyke in Cork last December and now the accused man has confessed to all drugs charges against him. The accused man signed a plea of guilty to charges arising out of the seizure.
