Gardaí objected to bail, and Garda Kevin Molloy said it will be alleged that a passenger from an inbound Boston flight, Mr Grehan, was detected by customs officers to have two 20kg suitcases at Shannon Airport last Wednesday containing 31kg of cannabis with an estimated street value of €620,000.

A court has been told it will be alleged a former sales associate with high-end retail brands in Dublin "was caught red-handed" with two suitcases containing €620,000 worth of cannabis by the carousel at Shannon airport last week.

Sean Grehan, aged 28, of Stradbrook Park, Blackrock, Dublin appeared in Ennis District Court after being charged with two alleged drugs offences arising from the airport seizure last Wednesday.
