Man arrested following drugs and firearms seizure that included crack cocaine and crossbow
The items seized in Beaumont, Dublin 9 on Wednesday, November 5
Gardaí have arrested a man in his late teens in connection with the seizure of firearms, ammunition and drugs in Dublin 9.
The operation, involving gardaí from the DMR North Central Drugs Unit, took place on Wednesday morning when gardaí searched a vehicle in Beaumont.
There they discovered a lever action rifle, a crossbow, two disassembled handguns, a silencer, an air pistol, 553 shotgun shells, various types of ammunition and three knives.
According to a spokesperson for the gardaí, drugs seized at the scene included "crack cocaine and cocaine with an estimated value of €2,000, diamorphine valued at approximately €500 and a small quantity of cannabis."
The man who was arrested is currently detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939 at a garda station in the Dublin Region.
Every seized item will be examined by forensics. The investigation is ongoing.
