A man and a woman who admitted their parts in brothel-keeping at Watercourse Road in Cork in 2021 had sentencing adjourned on Tuesday until February 2026.

Both accused affirmed their signed guilty pleas when they made their first appearance before Cork Circuit Criminal Court.

Judge Helen Boyle adjourned sentencing in both cases until February 11, 2026.

39-year-old Tiberius Bot of Ross Park, Killavullen, County Cork, pleaded guilty recently to a charge of brothel-keeping contrary to the Criminal Law (Sexual Offences) Act.

The single charge against him states that on November 11, 2021, at Bleasby Street Mews, Bleasby Street, Watercourse Road, Cork, he did keep or manage or act or assist in the management of a brothel.

40-year-old Alina Maria Straton, also of Ross Park, Killavullen, admitted the same offence.

In addition, she admitted another charge related to the following day, November 12, 2021, at her home in Kilavullen of having a cannister of pepper spray in her possession, contrary to the Firearms Act.

The background circumstances in the case have not yet been outlined in court. It is anticipated that this will be done at the sentencing hearing on February 11, 2026.
