Revenue seizes over €235,000 worth of illegal cigarettes in Cork and Dublin Airport operations
Cigarettes seized by Revenue.
Revenue Customs officers have seized approximately €235,940 worth of cigarettes in separate operations in Cork city and Dublin Airport over the past week.
In an operation targeting the illegal sale and distribution of tobacco products, Revenue officers searched a residence in Blackpool, Cork city, on Thursday under warrant.

Cigarettes worth €55,500, including John Player Blue, Mayfair, and Marlboro Gold, were seized at the property. A man in his 30s and a woman in her 40s were questioned.
Similarly, on Tuesday, officers at Dublin Airport seized Platinum 7 cigarettes worth approximately €180,440 from passengers who had arrived on a flight from Cairo.
Five passengers — male and female, aged from their late teens to 40s — were arrested and are due to appear in court.

Meanwhile, gardaí in Offaly searched two properties in Edenderry and Rhode, recovering cigarettes worth around €858,500.
Investigations are ongoing.
