Teen questioned over fatal stabbing of Ukrainian boy in Dublin accommodation

Gardaí are continuing to question a juvenile over the murder of another teenager at emergency accommodation in north Dublin on Wednesday.
The 17-year-old suspect is expected to be held until later on Saturday, when he will either be charged and brought before the court or released.
Senior officers are liaising with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions and awaiting a decision on whether there is sufficient evidence to bring charges.
The victim, 17-year-old Vadym Davydenko from Ukraine, sustained multiple stab wounds to his head and upper body.
Gardaí and emergency services were called to the premises in Donaghmede shortly after 11am, where the seriously injured teenage boy was discovered.
Despite the efforts of paramedics, the boy was pronounced dead at the scene.
Both the victim and the suspect were among four juveniles staying at an apartment used as emergency accommodation for unaccompanied minors seeking asylum — children who arrive in Ireland without their parents and are cared for by Tusla, the Child and Family Agency.
A woman also received medical attention at the scene and was later taken to hospital for further treatment.
Gardaí and emergency services discovered Vadym at the apartment in Donaghmede around 11am on Wednesday.
The suspect was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries before being discharged on Friday and arrested.
Garda Headquarters confirmed that the teenager was arrested on suspicion of murder and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, which permits up to 24 hours in custody, excluding rest periods.
It is understood that an interpreter and specially trained Garda child interviewers were present during questioning.

that an autopsy on the body of the deceased has been completed, and its results are “not being released for operational reasons.”"An Garda Síochána continues to investigate all the circumstances of a fatal incident that occurred on Wednesday, 15th October 2025 at an emergency residential premises in Donaghmede, Dublin 13.
"The scene remains preserved at this time and is subject to examination."
