Major drugs bust as 150kg of cocaine worth €10.5m seized at Rosslare

Approximately 150kg of cocaine was discovered within the concealment with an estimated street value of €10.5m

Gardaí and Revenue have seized cocaine worth more than €10m at Rosslare Europort.

As part of an intelligence led operation which targets serious organised crime activity, the agencies launched a joint sting on Monday.

A truck and trailer unit travelling from the continent was controlled and searched at Rosslare Europort.

The search of the truck revealed an elaborate lead-lined concealment within the fuel tank of the vehicle. 

Approximately 150kg of cocaine was discovered within the concealment with an estimated street value of €10.5m

A male in his 50s was arrested and is currently detained.

Investigations are ongoing.
