A young American woman who had recently arrived in Cork was punched once by a young man who accosted her in the city centre, it was alleged on Tuesday.

Michael O’Sullivan, aged 19, of 1 Monastery Close, Monastery Hill, Blarney Street, Cork, appeared at Cork District Court, where there was an objection to bail because of the seriousness of the allegations.
