A window at the Travelodge on Kinsale Road roundabout was smashed by a 27-year-old man, who verbally abused security staff at another premises, calling them ‘motherf***ers’, and now he has been given a two-month jail term.

Judge Mary Dorgan imposed a sentence of five months, with the last three months suspended, in the case against Mohammed Moujahid, who has been living at Cork Simon and St Vincent’s hostel since his arrival in Cork from Morocco five years ago.
