Cork man threatened to 'knock the head off' garda after his arrest for high-speed driving escapade

Accused failed to stop when gardaí put on the blue lights and siren to indicate for him to stop, court heard.

Threats to a garda including one to "knock the head off ya" were made by a man after a dangerous high-speed driving escapade that began with handbrake turns in a residential area.

The events that gave rise to the case date back 13 years. The accused man, 37-year-old Fionn Bowles, with an address at The Old Mill, Sallybrook, Cork, who was out of the country for a long time since, has returned and pleaded guilty to charges arising out of the incident.
