Man charged with sexually assaulting woman and assaulting her teenage daughter in West Cork

A man who is charged with six offences, including sexual assault and false imprisonment, has appeared before Judge Joanne Carroll at Bandon District Court.

The accused man’s solicitor Diarmuid Kelleher said that he had received disclosure in the case and his client was “going to think about” proceeding on a signed plea or requesting a book of evidence.

The court heard that there was no bail application and the accused man who cannot be named for legal reasons is currently in custody in the Midlands Prison.

It is alleged that the Irishman who is in his 30s unlawfully entered a premises in the early morning where he allegedly sexually assaulted a woman who is in her late 30s and also physically assaulted her young teenage daughter. 

The man is also charged with two counts of false imprisonment and one count of burglary.
