Raids on the assets of a suspected drug trafficker in Kerry targeted solicitors, auctioneers, other businesses, and homes this week, with multiple searches conducted in the Tralee area.

The Criminal Assets Bureau (CAB) and Kerry gardaí searched several residences and businesses in Tralee.

Neighbouring Listowel in north Kerry was also targeted by CAB and garda raids, it is understood.

Gardaí were seen entering multiple businesses and a small apartment complex in Tralee as part of the major operation targeting the assets of a suspected drug trafficker.

A garda spokesperson confirmed that more than 90 personnel were deployed for the operation.

Multiple raids took place across Tralee and the wider north Kerry area.

According to sources, Kenmare was also the site of at least one raid.

During Tuesday's coordinated searches, CAB and Kerry gardaí seized more than €200,000.

They also confiscated electronic devices and documents considered to hold evidential value.

CAB officers, assisted by gardaí from the Kerry Division, the Armed Support Unit, and the Customs Dog Unit, executed search warrants at various residential and commercial properties across the county.
