An armed robber who was jailed for over five years for a crime spree in Cork City was literally brushed off in his attempts to carry out a knifepoint robbery at a café on Shandon Street.

35-year-old Martin Doyle was jailed for five years plus a six-month reactivated sentence as a result of three robberies and three attempted robberies.
