A 22-year-old Cork man who admitted a charge of assault causing serious harm to another man brought €12,000 compensation to court on Monday.

Jane Hyland, senior counsel for Louis Herdman, asked Judge Helen Boyle to direct the preparation of a probation report on the young man in advance of sentencing.
