A man has been arrested as part of a garda operation targeting an organised crime group in Limerick.

The man, who is in his late 30s, was arrested on Wednesday afternoon during an intelligence-led operation by Gardaí from the Clare/Tipperary Division, with support from Regional Support Units and the Garda Air Support Unit.

The organisation is suspected of being involved in several burglaries of businesses and residences in Limerick and theft of high-value vehicles.

The arrested man is currently being detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007 at a Garda station in the Southern Region.

The investigation is ongoing.
