The judge convicted and fined the woman €250 on one of the five charges. The judge also  ordered that she would pay €2,439 costs for the ISPCA and another €2,000 for legal costs.

A large dog was found seriously underweight, suffering from eye ulcers, hair loss, and living in filthy, cramped conditions. The neglect of the animal has cost a 68-year-old woman almost €4,700 on conviction at Cork District Court.

Sheila Casey who is living in Rathcormac, Co Cork, pleaded guilty to five counts related to the neglect of the dog which caused unnecessary suffering to the animal at Ryefield East, Carrignavar, Co Cork, in September 2023.
