Cork man accused of robbing 81-year-old woman as she walked home at night remanded in custody

Court heard the accused asked the woman for money and she declined and he then grabbed her handbag and in the process dragged her to the ground, causing her to fall onto the road

A 26-year-old man accused of carrying out a robbery of an 81-year-old woman, who was knocked to the ground as she walked home with her friend at Military Hill in Cork was remanded in custody.

Kelvin Murphy, of 152 Wolfe Tone Street, Gurranabraher, Cork, was refused bail at a special sitting of Cork District Court at the weekend and now he has been further remanded in custody until April 2.
