Man arrested after gardaí seize over €200k worth of cocaine in Limerick

Limerick gardaí have arrested a man and seized over €200,000 worth of suspected cocaine following a vehicle search in Croom, Co. Limerick, on February 7, 2025.
The operation was carried out by the Divisional Drugs Unit attached to Henry Street Garda Station.
Gardaí stopped and searched the vehicle near Croom, when officers discovered and confiscated cocaine with an estimated street value of approximately €204,000.
The seized drugs have been sent for further analysis by Forensic Science Ireland.
A man, aged in his 50s, was arrested in connection with the discovery. He is currently being held under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996, at a garda station in the Limerick area.
Investigations are ongoing.
This seizure is part of Operation Tara, an initiative aimed at targetting drug trafficking networks at all levels, from international importation to local distribution and sale.
