The High Court has ordered the surrender of a republican — who was one of the famous ‘Colombia Three’ — to authorities in the North to face charges for three murders that happened more than 40 years ago.

Martin McCauley, aged 62, with an address at Esmondale, Naas, Co Kildare, presented himself to Kildare Garda Station, from where he was transported to the High Court. The High Court ordered his surrender to authorities in Northern Ireland and, on Thursday morning, gardaí handed him over to the PSNI.
