A young garda’s promising career 'went up in smoke' after being found with two bags of cocaine, one for a friend, down a laneway in Killarney town centre, a court heard.

Shane O’Sullivan, aged 26, of Banard, Gneeveguilla, Rathmore, pleaded guilty to a charge of having cocaine for sale or supply in the early hours on February 6, 2023, at Well Lane in Killarney, Killarney District Court was told. The offence is contrary to Section 15 of the Misuse of Drugs Act.
