Gardaí are maintaining high-visibility patrols, including by armed units, in the Bray area to dampen down any “flare up” in retaliatory violence following the fatal stabbing of Willie Moorehouse on Sunday.

Detectives suspect the attack, by a group of blade-wielding men, is linked to a “local turf war” over drugs. Mr Moorehouse, a 36-year-old father-of-six, suffered significant wounds when he was set upon by a gang in the Boghall Road end of the town at around 6pm.
