Two children who saw mother break her leg during 'wrong house' search by gardaí settle cases

Judge O’Brien heard that liability remained very much in issue and it was being suggested that the children may have been more upset at seeing their mother fall rather than the intrusion of the gardaí, albeit at the wrong house. File photo
A judge has approved damages settlements for two young children who suffered distress and trauma when gardaí turned up at their home in a “wrong house” search.
Barrister Conor Kearney told Judge Jennifer O’Brien in the Circuit Civil Court that the children's mother, in her night attire, had fallen down stairs in her attempt to get to the front door and open it for the gardaí.
