Director of Public Prosecutions had directed trial by indictment and also consented to the accused entering a signed plea of guilty at Cork District Court and to be sentenced at Cork Circuit Criminal Court, court heard.

A 52-year-old man accused of stealing €20,000 cash during a burglary from an apartment in Cork and who allegedly left a pint glass of stout behind him at the scene was remanded in custody until January 16.
