A wedding was the scene for a disturbance caused by a 30-year-old man in Ballincollig and after his arrest he smeared blood inside the cell of the garda van and threatened to spit blood at gardaí.

Judge Mary Dorgan said after hearing about what happened and the defendant’s circumstances that there was very little to be said by way of mitigation. Judge Dorgan jailed 30-year-old Ian Lockyer of no fixed address for five months at Cork District Court.
