Gardaí responded to a call to Oliver Plunkett Street at about 10pm on Tuesday night in relation to allegations a man wielding a knife was abusive to members of the public.

Garda James O’Connell testified on Wednesday at Cork District Court that members of An Garda Síochána, including members of the armed response unit, arrived at the scene and Trevor Connolly was quickly located.
