Man accused of raping friend in Cork home found not guilty

A jury of six men and six women at the Central Criminal Court sitting in Cork took just over three hours to deliver their unanimous not guilty verdict

A man who drank wine and danced sensually with a friend at his home in Cork said in relation to her allegations that he later raped her — “I disagree 100%.” 

The young woman testified that she did not consent to sexual intercourse with the accused on the occasion and that she was not conscious when there was penetration.
