Man, 40s, charged with robbery of retail premises in Cork City

A man has been charged in connection with a robbery of a retail premises in Cork city on Tuesday.
The incident occurred shortly after midday when a man entered store in in Summerhill North on the city's northside and threatened staff with a knife before making off with a sum of cash.
Detective gardaí from Watercourse Road subsequently arrested a man in his 40s.
He was subsequently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda station in Cork City. He has since been charged and scheduled to appear before Cork District Court on Wednesday morning.
