Man approached by Cork gardaí fled BMW and threw away bag of heroin and crack cocaine
The man's plastic bag contained €60,000 worth of heroin and €7,000 worth of crack cocaine.
A Louth man passing through Redemption Road in Cork jumped out the BMW when gardaí approached and he was seen throwing a clear plastic bag into a grassy area.
That was the scenario described by Detective Garda Linda O’Keeffe at Cork Circuit Criminal Court in the sentencing hearing for 33-year-old Darragh Smith, aged 33, who is residing with accommodation provided by the Peter McVerry Trust in Dublin and is formally of Co Louth.
