Man pleads guilty to sexual assault of two women in Mallow

'I am still on high alert with men because of the actions of this one man'

A 29-year-old man pleaded guilty at Cork Circuit Criminal Court to a total of eight counts of sexual assault.

A simple and kind gesture of an 18-year-old agreeing to give a man a cigarette resulted in him sexually assaulting her and her friend several times that night in Mallow despite them begging him to leave them alone.

Garda Ben McNamara outlined the background to this incident at Cork Circuit Criminal Court where the 29-year-old man pleaded guilty to a total of eight counts of sexual assault on the night of June 27, 2022.
