A woman on trial for throwing a knife at her husband claimed she acted in self-defence when he first threw it across the kitchen at her, embedding the weapon in her thigh.

She claimed she pulled it out of her thigh and threw it back but she denied she was guilty of a charge of assault causing harm to her husband. And the jury agreed.
