Farmer who assaulted man in Cork bar given 'time to save up'

Alun George, aged 35, of Llanferran, St Nicholas, Goodwick, Wales, was charged with assault causing harm to another man at Reardens on Washington Street, Cork on February 24.

A Welsh farmer who admits assaulting another man at Reardens in Cork city on a stag weekend and damaging his front teeth had sentencing in his case adjourned until January as the judge said this would give him “time to save up.”

Defence solicitor Frank Buttimer said in the course of the latest hearing that the farmer was pleading guilty and would address the issue of compensation.
