The man faces charges of having a metal bar and assault causing harm to another man at Grand Parade, Cork, on Tuesday, October 1.

A man accused of striking another man across the head with an iron bar on one of the main streets of Cork city in the middle of the afternoon was remanded in custody for four weeks on Wednesday.

Jamie Kavanagh, aged 30, of no fixed address and originally from Ballincollig, County Cork, faces charges of having a metal bar and assault causing harm to another man at Grand Parade, Cork, on Tuesday, October 1.
