A young man who was repeatedly abusive to gardaí during different incidents in Cork City, calling them rats, pigs, scumbags and tramps, has been given a suspended jail term.

Judge Philip O’Leary said at Cork District Court it appeared Cian Garvin, who is aged around 20, of St Vincent’s hostel, Anglesea Terrace, Cork, “cannot help himself from getting into further difficulty”.
