Corkman used axe to smash car and cause €2,000 of damage

Judge said while grievance was understandable, accused dealt with it in the wrong way

The accused pleaded guilty to a charge of causing criminal damage.

An axe was produced during an incident when a car was smashed up in the driveway of a house in Montenotte causing €2,000 worth of damage as the owner sat in the driver’s seat.

Patrick Mooney, of 11 Carloch Court, The Glen, Cork, pleaded guilty to a charge of causing criminal damage and faced sentencing on Tuesday at Cork District Court.
