Three arrested as customs seize €1.5m worth of drugs in three operations at Dublin Airport

Revenue officials have seized 1.3kgs of cocaine and 74kgs worth of cannabis worth an estimated €1.5m during three separate operations at Dublin Airport earlier this week.
On Wednesday, Revenue officers discovered 1.3kgs of cocaine after stopping and searching a passenger who had disembarked a flight from Lisbon originating in Brazil.

A man in his 30s was subsequently arrested and charged in connection with the seizure. He appeared in court on Thursday.
Separately on Wednesday, officials at the airport also uncovered 74kgs of herbal cannabis when two passengers disembarked flights from Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Both flights originated in Thailand.
Approximately 37kgs of herbal cannabis, with an estimated value of €740,800 each, was discovered in vacuum-packed packages inside the baggage of each passenger.

A man in his 40s and a woman in her 20s were arrested, charged and have since appeared before the courts.
A Revenue spokesperson told the that investigations into all three seizures are ongoing.
