Man, 20s, arrested after criminal damage and motorbike crash which injured pedestrian in Cork

A man has been arrested over a number of incidents in Cork City last Friday which saw property damage, a firearm seized, and a man injured as suspects fled the scene.
At around 5.40pm, serious criminal damage was caused to a property in the Shanakiel area.
Two people believed to have been involved fled the scene on a motorbike which struck a male pedestrian around 30 minutes later on Churchfield Rd.
The pedestrian in his 60s was taken to Cork University Hospital (CUH) for treatment. He remains in hospital in a serious condition.
On Thursday, gardaí arrested a man in his 20s as part of their investigation.
He is currently being held under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act at a garda station in the southern region.
Gardaí continue to appeal to anyone with information on the incidents, or road users with video footage.
